Keyboardist Knechtel accompanied big-name performers (Fort Wayne Journal Gazette)
YAKIMA, Wash. - Larry Knechtel, a Grammy award-winning keyboardist who accompanied big-name musicians such as Elvis Presley, Ray Charles and the Dixie Chicks, died Thursday. He was 69. Knechtel died of an apparent heart attack at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, a spokesman for Valley Hills Funeral Home said.
